Teething Problems
After coming to the UK everything went well for about a month and Bhavya was well adjusted to the place and enjoyed playing with his jim and rattles. He had also started giving smiles, I am sure he recognised both of us well by then. But he started becoming cranky and restless thereafter. He used to be on my lap most of the times and on his papa's when he used to come back from work. This was a bit tough time though manageable. I had a feeling that its because of teething probably as he was drooling a lot and putting his fingers and everything that he could grab into his mouth. I was giving him cold carat to hold and chew and sometimes the cold teether also worked, though for short duration. These attempts were more of a temporary relief then a cure. Actually, there can't be any cure to this problem and he had to go through all this sooner or later, but, I would have wished it to happen a bit later, at least after a couple of months. I used to apply Bonjela and massage his gums to give him some relief.
Finally, a tooth erupted in his lower jaw and I was thrilled with joy. I immediately called up Sandeep at work and gave him the good news. All the pain Bhavya was going through had finally started paying off. He was hardly six months when this first tooth started to erupt though not too much visible. Now that the teething had started, he was not in so much pain or rather shall I say, had learnt to live with it.
